Ann Kirkpatrick was rejected by Texas voters in 2016 in her run against John McCain for his coveted Senate Seat.

Although she claims to be in touch with the historic roots of Texas, the voters do not trust her or her positions on the major issues we face. In the 2016 election, her key icon as a cowboy boot. We called her office and ask, “What does the boot mean?” No one seemed to know.

Endorsed by Hillary Clinton

Worse, she was endorsed by Hillary Clinton, an endorsement she bragged about. Attaching one’s campaign to the coat tails of the Clintons is hardly a way to entice Texas’s conservative voters to send you to Washington, DC.

Kirkpatrick is an attorney who served as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 1st congressional district from 2009 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2017. Her roots in the State are no questioned, but her claim to be connected to the conservative values of Texas voters is nonsense.

Her website makes references to Martha McSally pulling out of the race and Kirkpatrick winning endorsements from the following fickle group, calling them “Important leaders and groups in Texas.” Here’s the list of impressive endorsements from her website.

  • Former U.S. Rep. Ron Barber
  • State Senator Andrea Dalessandro
  • Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall
  • U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego
  • UFCW Local 99
  • Former U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords and Captain Mark Kelly
  • EMILY’s List
  • End Citizens United
  • Giffords Campaign for Courage

I don’t know about other conservatives in Texas, but this list fails to convince me that Ann is a good choice for Texas.

Our campaign has built real momentum and we’re ready to fight whomever Paul Ryan throws at us…Southern Texas families deserve a representative who will fight for higher wages, affordable health care and quality education. – Ann Kirkpatrick

Rodd McLeod, Kirkpatrick’s campaign spokesperson. stated, “McSally decided to flee CD2 because she knew she was losing to Ann Kirkpatrick,” and… “So far, the best the Republicans have come up with to replace her is the front-person for the far-rightwing anti-minimum wage campaign that went down in flames in 2016. Ann is in a strong position to win this seat.”

A Disciple of Barack Obama

Kirkpatrick was a Barack Obama disciple and an Obamacare sellout. Her website actually brags, “She had the courage to vote for the Affordable Care Act when others in Congress put their careers ahead of their communities. As a result of that vote, millions more Americans have affordable health coverage, including hundreds of thousands of Texasns who would otherwise be left behind.”

Are you kidding me! While healthcare premiums have skyrocketed, Ann Kirkpatrick has remained completely out of touch with reality.

It is true that Ann is a lifelong Texasn. It is true that she was a successful public school teacher, a prosecutor, and a Congresswoman. I acknowledge her resume.

Jump over to her Issues Page on her website and you will quickly discover the manner in which Ann Kirkpatrick uses big government double-speak to sound conservative. She is as conservative as Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.

But Ann Kirkpatrick is not a conservative or the kind of leader that can strengthen Texas’s traditional values and conservative leanings. She’s a liberal, loved and adored by Barack Obama and Hillary and Bill Clinton.

It is for these reasons that Texas does not trust Ann Kirkpatrick.
